Decreasing of Otaaq culture in Sindh

     Otaaq is like an institution which plays the vital role in our society. Otaaq is a place where villagers get together and discuss the matters with each other.
    Thousands of year ago the civilizations of Egypt, Mesopotamia and Chinese civilization were lived on the bank of the Nile river. On the same time sindhi civilization was growing on the west bank of the Indus river which is called Indus valley civilization.  Sindhi people built their good homes and also established the  Otaaq as an institution of learning and resolving the matters of the villagers.
     Mostly, the guests of the Sindhi people stays at their otaqs instead of their houses. Which may either their friends or their relatives who comes and stays at Otaq. The culture of Otaq is not only popular in Sindhis but also in Baloch people. It is a fact that in the Baloch people Otaq plays the same role as like Sindhis. In Sindh otaaq is available in every village either there is one house or hundred houses in the villages.
     Otaaq is used for discussions, decisions, news, literature, history, agricultural talks, storytelling and solving problems. The problems are solved by a village community leader means it also used as court of justice.
     On the other side villagers named Otaq as “TADO” (state). If anyone who commited any mistake and comes at Otaaq then Otaq holders give respect and forgive them and even they forgive the sin of murder and enmity change into friendship.
       Sports is also a part of otaaq where people play the games to make their body strong and physical fitness. The games are belhaaro, kodee kodee, vanjhwatee, Malaakhro (wrestling) etc. Malaakhro is national game of sindh which is played in the whole Sindh. If anyone wedds all guests stay at otaaq or if any die then all guests stay at otaaq.
    In otaaq, Kachahri releases the emotions because there were many talented people who show their skills in singing or music which they play with their instruments: with been, alghoza, boreendo, flute, yaktaaro, Tanooro etc. A man who entertains the people people present in Otaq called the Maskharo.
    Otaaq is a big source to develop culture, wisdom, literature, sports in our society, from antiquate Era otaaq is connected to people as source communication. In that time there was nothing anything to connect villagers to each other. According to culture Otaq  as an institution Indus civilization was a developed society in the world.
     Otaaq plays the role like a School where everyone learn the everything and get knowledge then they use their skills, in that time there was no convenes people went pedestrian to each others.
In this modern Era otaaq culture is totally destroyed in sindh. Shah abdul latif bhitai says “ Aj na otaaqan mn taalib tanvaaren, adesi uthee waya marhiyan moon maarin, jeke jea khe jiyaarin se laahooti sabh ladey wayaa” .
      Nowadays, Otaaqs are empty no one stay at otaaqs, everyone stay at their homes. nobody want to come at otaaq as Guest because hospitality is decreasing day by day. However relatives also not come to otaaq because in this era science and technology there are devices  a mobile phones are invented  which decreased the distance of thousands  miles in the approach of ear and mouth and now everyone hand has a mobile sphone they talks with their friends and relatives busy in playing games and using facebook and whatsapp on mobile phones in Otaaq.
In this modern era culture, literature, physical sports, music are decreasing day by day from Otaq. because of tribal and communities clashes, enmity, circumstances are increasing. Nobody want to go out from home.  if anyone goes he may loss their everything even their life.
Otaaq culture can come back we update and continue all above things.
