Kirthar national park, established in 1974 and stretched 3089 sq kilometers, located in jamshoro district. The 2nd largest national park of pakistan after hingol national park of pakistan. kirthar national park fulfilled with beautiful nature scenes and well known for rare type of wild goat commonly called ‘’Sindh Ibex’’. It is called sindh ibex because it is only found in sindh.
The sindh ibex basically have strong limbs with thick-set bodies, their horns may be over 102 cm(40 inches) in length, horns strongly keeled infront of their faces. Male ibex mostly have beards but females don’t have the beards.
In an talk with the in charge and wild life officer mister paandhi khan told that ‘’there are around 13000 sindh ibex remaining alive in the park and that they are trying there best to save and increase the numbers of this unique species in near future’’. He also added that apart of this they are also taking care of other animals like Ratels, striped heynas, Indian leopards, urials, chinkaras, blackbuck antelopes.
Paandhi khan also told that every year sindh ibex attracts foreign tourists and media to visit the park. Tourists stay and place their camps in the park for a weeks to see the beauty of nature.
